Create a Wedding Website- It’s Easy!

Create a Wedding Website- It’s Easy!

The purpose of creating a wedding website is to give your guests one main resource where they may find information about your big day. Questions about the location, dress code, registry, travel plans, even your social media hashtag can all be added to your wedding website. There are a lot of good platforms out there to use- and many are free!

Take advantage of this easy and convenient way to communicate essential wedding day details with your guests.

For those who are new to creating a web page, the process can seem incredibly intimidating. But rest assured that most have built in templates to guide you through the entire process. There are also a lot of free spaces to include photos and information on any unique traditions that you may be including.

So, next big question- when should you create your site, and how should you share it with your guests? Once you have secured your venue and date, it is safe to get busy and create your wedding website.

BIG TIP: in addition to all of the who, what, when and where information- be sure to include a FAQ section on your website. Trust me, these are questions that you will be asked again and again, so make sure to address them in the FAQ!

  • What time is the wedding ceremony?
  • Who is in the wedding party?
  • What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
  • Where should I stay?
  • What airport should I fly in to?
  • Can I bring a plus one?
  • Can I bring children?
  • Will you have an open bar, cash bar, or alcohol free wedding?
  • What are the dining options?
  • Will there be an after party?
  • What is the timeframe for the entire celebration?
  • Where are you registered?

When you create the website you will have an individualized URL (website address) that you will be able to share with your guests on your Save the Date notifications and your official invitations. Don’t stress about every single detail in the beginning, most website services allow for constant updates and you can add details as they become available.

To wrap it all up- creating a wedding website is incredibly beneficial for the following reasons:

  • All of your event information will be stored in one place that your guests can reference it for months prior to the wedding.
  • You can digitally collect and manage event RSVPs, You can ask guests to enter their address when they RSVP, making thank you notes a no-brainer!
  • You can quickly and easily update guests should event plans need to change.
  • No need to manage separate links for your registries, as all of those details can be added to your wedding website.

Happy Wedding Website Planning!
